Richard E Shaw is a multitalented American educator, entrepreneur and speaker. He studied Mechanical Engineering from the Louisiana State University (LSU) Baton Rouge, La. as well as received an associate degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Dallas College El Centro formerly El Centro College in Dallas, Tx. He has always had a keen eye out for commercializing modern innovations and hybrid ideas. After receiving a bachelor's and an associate's degree, Shaw furthered his educational advent with a master's degree from Prairie View A&M University in Supervision and Educational Administration. It didn't stop here. Richard E. Shaw also has a BS in Secondary Education in English and History from Paul Quinn College.
His venture evolved into more of a leadership role that occurred earlier on in his life. During his educational years, he has been a member of Phi Delta Kappa, Phi Beta Kappa, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Shortly, Shaw has worked as an Assistant Principal, and Academic Coordinator at Paul Quinn College, his tenure lasted from 2005 to 2007. After which he was appointed as the Principal of Clay Academy in 2008. He served his role up until 2009.

He has been regarded by many as one of the greatest African American Inventors in the history of the United States and has been inducted in the Hall of Elite Inventors with 12 United States patents. This is all in effect from his invention of a vending machine system called 'Credit and Debit Receiving and Dispensing Device'. It allows users to utilize both credit and debit cards to dispense items.
For his work, Shaw has been featured in numerous local as well as national magazines such as Forbes and Business Week. He was featured on the cover of Marquis Who's Who Millennia Magazine 9th edition
He has been awarded two prestigious Industrial Design Excellence Awards for The Credit and Debit Receiving Dispensing Device from the Industrial Design Society of America for one of his most distinguished innovative inventions. This device can be seen in malls, shopping outlets, colleges and airports across this nation; rose to national and international prominence after creating and developing this device.
